HP reveals ultra-thin 2310e HD LED-backlit display; DVI-D, HDMI outputs

Hewlett-Packard unveiled a brand new, super slim display this morning: the 23-inch HP 2310e HD widescreen display.

For starters, here are a few of the important specs to note on the 1-inch thick, white LED-backlit HP 2310e:
  • Full HD 1,920 x 1,080 resolution
  • 8,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio
  • 16:9 aspect ratio
  • 250 nits of brightness
  • 5ms on/off response time
  • Displays 70% of the color gamut
Connectivity is relatively simple with HDMI, DVI-D and DisplayPort sockets. It should also be easy to move around as the base is detachable, but the HP 2310e lacks a Vesa mount on the back.
Lastly, there are a few hints of green present on the HP 2310e. It should be noted that the WLED backlighting is mercury-free, the glass is arsenic-free, and the rear cover and base are made from recycled plastics. The HP2310e has been awarded a number of eco-friendly certifications, namely the Energy Star 5.0 rating.
The HP2310e is expected to retail for $289 when it goes on sale on September 29.
